Yes to Benington Wind Farm

is a website formed to support the construction of the proposed Benington wind farm. The UK urgently needs a large expansion of renewables in order to stand a chance of coping with the impending problems of climate change and peak oil. Despite this, many wind farm projects get killed off due to vocal opposition. Don't let it happen here ! We encourage you to voice your support with your local councillor.

Climate change

In it's 4th assessment, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), recently concluded that 'Global atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide have increased markedly as a result of human activities since 1750 and now far exceed pre-industrial levels... Warming of the climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observation of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice, and rising global average sea level.'

Peak Oil

At the same time, we find that we are increasingly reliant on dwindling supplies of foreign oil and gas while world demand continues to soar. We have already seen a glimpse of the turmoil ahead with rising petrol prices and rising household utility bills. Our addiction to fossil fuels threatens to condemn us to decades of economic chaos and military conflict. Here's a short video, featuring David Strahan, author of the book 'The Last Oil Shock':-
